I tacked in the rear brackets tonight and then started working on some ideas for the front bracket.  But I'm also trying to figure out how to do the links.  I've seen several different ways. (Check the bottom for drawings of my options)

First some pictures of the tabs in place.

Now here is a basic mockup of what the front tab might look like.  The d60 has bout a 1.5" radius on the tube.  I plan on having a hole for the bottom link near the bottom of the bracket then 1 link attaching higher up above the axle. When I'm happy I will cut the brackets out of 3/8" plate.

Now this is my real delima.  How to build the links.

Options

  • YY links - 2 Y links one with a removable short link for trail use. (when having 2 Y links it apparently creates some binding with flex.
  • YI links - 1Y and 1 Straight. This setup sometimes causes brake dive pretty bad so alot of people do the YY with a removable so get this setup on the trail.
  • III Links - This is a common setup as well but can suffer issues like brake dive etc if you don't have the upper link correct. It also might cause issues with my oil pan.

The top drawing was my first idea, which Is the way I'm leaning.

The second is basically just the first upside down.

The 3rd is a 3link with the center link coming back from the top of the diff to the same point the main link does.

The 4th is a Y link but the upperlink connects to the top of the Diff as seen on the drawing to the right of it.

If you have any ideas or suggestions let me know!

Thanks

I
