3 Link complete!
Wesley's Blogs By host on 2/11/2007 11:49 PM
I finished up the 3link today. I fabbed 2 brackets. 1 For the upper panhard mount and 1 for the axle panhard mount. I fabbed both from 3x5 square stock i had in the basement. I then fabbed the shock mounts. The lowers I bought from ballistic fab and the uppers i made from some 2x2 sq stock. The brakes are the only thing left. Pics below

Test fit the chevy MC.

Had to file down the holes to an oblong shape. Once I did that it went in pretty good. It bolted up pretty easy and should help the brakes alot. I also started figuring out the panhard setup and the torch ran out of oxygen so I had to call it quits.

The X stands on its own again.
Wesley's Blogs By host on 2/3/2007 9:34 PM
I spent today trying to get the X back on its feet. I already had the two lower links half welded (Ran out of gas thursday night) so today I built the upper link and fabbed some brackets to go on it. I also spent some time getting my misalignment spacers ready etc. Once I got the links bolted in I made some quick bump stops (don't have the rubber bump stop for them yet) from some tub a bolt and some washers. I then attached my springs to the spring perches and put the bump stop/upper alignment posts in place. The upper alignment posts allow the springs to unseat from the buckets at full drup but guide them back in place on compression.

All the parts showed up so I got all the perches and buckets welded in and got part of the links ready. It was about a 10 hour day getting this done. Tommorow I will do bushings and try to make some progress on the links.

New Links using Crossmember.
Wesley's Blogs By host on 1/13/2007 11:52 PM
My buddy james came by the house last week and schooled me on linked suspensions. So after some measuring etc he said it would be alot better to put upper link mounts in the crossmember. So Today I started that process and I'm pretty happy with the outcome....

Wesley's Blogs By host on 1/8/2007 10:18 PM
I tacked in the rear brackets tonight and then started working on some ideas for the front bracket. But I'm also trying to figure out how to do the links. I've seen several different ways. (Check the bottom for drawings of my options)

Wesley's Blogs By host on 1/6/2007 10:02 PM
Tonight I got started by taking some 6"x3/8" plate and cutting it into 2.5"x6" pieces on my 4x6 bandsaw. I then took the plates and tacked them together and drilled 2
