Started putting parts in place

All the parts showed up so I got all the perches and buckets welded in and got part of the links ready. It was about a 10 hour day getting this done. Tommorow I will do bushings and try to make some progress on the links.

Crossmember done. Started Front drivers bracket

My buddy james came by the house last week and schooled me on linked suspensions. So after some measuring etc he said it would be alot better to put upper link mounts in the crossmember. So Today I started that process and I'm pretty happy with the outcome....

layed out Link options and started front bracket design.

I tacked in the rear brackets tonight and then started working on some ideas for the front bracket. But I'm also trying to figure out how to do the links. I've seen several different ways. (Check the bottom for drawings of my options)

Today, I finshed up the tabs on the drill press and bandsaw. I also finished cutting the old brackets off the D60.

Tonight I got started by taking some 6"x3/8" plate and cutting it into 2.5"x6" pieces on my 4x6 bandsaw. I then took the plates and tacked them together and drilled 2

Welp I tore the front Axle out the X tonight and started looking at ideas on the links. I'm thinking of a radius arm type setup that has 2 lower links that connect to bottom back side of the axle on each side. Then ...

New Welder.

I went last night and picked up a new/used welder. It's an ESAB MultiMaster 260 Mig/Tig/Stick machine. I'm really impressed with the condition it was in for 6 years old. Thing works great and came with abour 20# of wire to.
