Broken tab on Yoke. Welded to fix it.
Wesley's Blogs By host on 9/6/2006 11:04 PM
OK the last trip to harlan I broke a tab on my 1350 yoke which resulted in needle bearings all over the trail and my weekend being cut short. I want to see if the yokes still bind for my axle shim install so i welded it up using the plasma cutter to make a piece to replace the tab and the stick welder to put the new tab on the yoke.I have ordered a new one but in the mean time I tried to make this one workable and good enough for a spare on the trail.

Axle Shim Install
Wesley's Blogs By host on 9/6/2006 10:50 PM
The Xterra has been very cumbersome on the trail rides lately! Always having trouble with the heat and the front driveshaft. So after the last trip to harlan I discovered the issue. (Yah it took me two breakdowns to figure out why its happening) The front yokes are binding due to the high pinion angle. So now to install some axle shims to see if that helps.
